US Union Supports Iranian Truckers Strike
US Union supports Iranian truckers strike as it reaches its second week. The International Brotherhood of TEAMSTERS laid out this statement.
Hours ago, the International Brotherhood of TEAMSTERS wrote a letter to the Iranian authorities. The US Union is acknowledging the result of the truckers’ strike as “having no voice in the decisions that impact their livelihoods”.
The US support of Iranian truckers came as a strong voice on Rouhani. The statement was sent to the Embassy of Pakistan that holds Iran’s interest in America. They wrote on Twitter, TEAMSTERS stand in solidarity with our Iranian brother & sisters!

TEAMSTERS represents 1.4 million supply chain and transportation workers in the US and Canada. James P. Hoffa, the General President writes they urge the government of Iran to listen to the grievances of striking Iranian truck drivers.
May was a month of protest led by the Iranian truck drivers. Their strike carried on to 31 provinces and above 200 cities. The drivers held a strike against low pay and rising operating costs.
At the end of the letter, the famous union tells Iran to address their just demands and recognize their rights. It calls them internationally recognized rights to assembly and speech. Also including freedom of association and collective bargaining.
