European car manufacturing company pulling out of Iran
Following the French automotive manufacturer, Peugeot and the German multinational automotive corporation, Daimler AG, Volkswagen is now the third major European car manufacturing company pulling out of Iran.
U.S. Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell led the talks with the Wolfsburg-based company, according to the Bloomberg report.
Volkswagen will be able to conduct some business in Iran on humanitarian grounds, the report said.
Chennai Petroleum will stop processing Iranian crude oil from October
Chennai Petroleum Corporation (CPCL) is an Indian state-owned oil and gas corporation headquartered in India formed as a joint venture between India and Iranian Oil Company.
Reuters reported today that Chennai Petroleum will stop processing Iranian crude oil from October to keep its insurance coverage once new sanctions by the United States against Iran go into effect.
Iran left with just 2 oil clients in India after Chennai cancels its imports.
Tensions between Paris and Tehran
A French official said on Wednesday “Following a foiled plot to bomb an Iranian opposition rally in Paris last June, France will not name a new ambassador to Tehran before getting information from Iran.”
The plot to target a rally of the National Council of Resistance of Iran in a Paris suburb came to light a few days after the June 30 event.
Six people were arrested in Belgium, France and Germany.
Following the Grand Gathering of the Iranian Resistance in Paris and the failure of the Iranian regime’s terrorist plot and the arrest of regime’s agents, including a terrorist diplomat, the regime’s Supreme National Security Council held a meeting upon Khamenei’s order and commissioned the relevant bodies such as the Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Intelligence, the Quds Force, the Revolutionary Guards intelligence, and the state-run media to work to minimize the consequences of this big scandal.
