The Iranian regime’s failure to block Telegram

Iranian ICT Minister Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi announced Tuesday: “One of the reasons that the government is opposed to filtering the social media and the Internet, in general, is that the Internet censorship circumventions are becoming widespread, and this is in benefit to the opposition groups.”
The telegram was widely used by protesters and activists to broadcast pictures and videos of protests in the recent uprisings. The Iranian regime’s survival is dependent on blocking the free flow of information inside and outside of Iran.
