Police cracks down on truckers' strike
The truckers in Iran are still playing the drums as they continue their strike for the eighth day. There was conflict reported in a town by the name of Qahderijan in the Isfahan Province.
The Sanandaj – Hamedan Route has been blocked by drivers and they have shared their videos online.
More cargo terminals are empty and drivers from Shirvan, Hashtroud, and Loristan Province, west Iran are putting up new footages of their eighth day on strike. Taxi drivers in Urmie and Ghaemshahr have joined the strike too and sent their videos showing how long lines of taxis have parked up on the streets.
Oil tank drivers have also kept up the struggle in cities such as Sanandaj. People have started to comment that this nationwide strike has become equal to the oil workers strike before the revolution in 1979.
Some government internet lobbies have put up fake messages that say the drivers’ demands have been granted and that truckers can end the strike.
