Kazeroun: Protests over unfair territory divisions enter third day
According to local reports, the people of Kazeroun, Fars, gathered in the Shohada Square for the third consecutive day on Wednesday, April 18, to protest against government plans to separate parts of the city.
The gathering is taking place despite warnings by security forces and the city’s Friday prayer leader to end the protests.
Last week Hossein Rezazadeh, parliament member from Kazeroun, presented a draft legislation to the Majlis (parliament) to separate parts of the city. If the plan is carried out, the people of Kazeroun will be deprived of many government services. The protests started since then and have continued until today.
