Iranians held at least 6 protests over the weekend in various cities including Tehran, Qom, and Karaj.
Iranian government employees, workers, and people with disabilities gathered on Sunday in the capital Tehran, southwestern city of Ahvaz, Qom and Karaj in protest to their economic woes.
A group of poultry employees from all over the country gathered outside the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad in Tehran in protest to the high price of chicken.
One of the reasons behind the increase in meat and chicken prices is the trafficking of livestock to neighboring countries by those affiliated with the regime and the Revolutionary Guards Corps.
The protesters chanted, “Incompetent Minister, must resign”.
Also on Sunday, the employee of the Power Transmission Maintenance Engineering Company from at least three cities including Tehran, Karaj, and Qom held a strike in protest to their unpaid wages and the privatization of the company. They called for the immediate transfer of the company back to the public sector.
A number of people with disabilities also gathered on Sunday outside the Planning and Budget Organization offices in Tehran to protest the state’s incompetence and failure of Iran’s welfare organization.
They were holding placards which read, “Rehabilitation insurance is our right”.
