The Iranian regime is still refusing to implement quarantines in Iran despite reports of 3,650 COVID-19 fatalities today.
The National Council of Resistance of Iran said that at least 3,650 people had died across Iran.
The regime has only announced 429 deaths despite local reports and videos that indicate the real numbers are much higher. Officials have not taken any serious measures, including quarantine, to curb the rapid spread of the virus that has not affected 160 cities.
In the southwestern province of Fars, doctors asked the Governor to implement quarantine measures during a meeting.
According to the state-run ISNA News Agency, the head of the Special Ward of Ali Asghar Hospital in Shiraz said that if quarantine measures were not carried out, “many would die”. He called current conditions, “the quiet before the storm”.
“We are worried about business, but the truth is that if quarantine is not implemented, no one will be alive to do anymore business,” Abolfazl Derani Nejad added during the Governor’s meeting with the heads of public and private hospitals held yesterday.
Another doctor identified as Dr. Khalu, the head of Ali Asghar’s ICU Department said that the public should be warned that conditions were not good.
The audio file of Dr. Khalu’s comments were also published on social media channels.
The distraught doctor also asked the Governor to quarantine the province demanding that officials put away their “political” point of view to prevent further COVID-19 fatalities.
“I tended to all of those who died in this city (Shiraz) and the province (Fars). I’m sure that we’ll have at least 10 fatalities in four or five more days,” Dr. Khalu said.
He also sharply criticized the regime for its management of the COVID-19 outbreak saying that the people themselves were doing all the work.
“You don’t know, and you don’t understand that the people in this province are dying… If this province is good its not because of you or me, its because of its people,” he was heard telling the Governor.
“What kind of management is it when the people are better at managing (the COVID-19 outbreak)?” he demanded.
“It’s the people who are controlling the system, the people who are giving financial aid, the people who are buying masks (for hospitals),” he was heard saying on the audio file.
Dr. Khalu said that locals were providing facilities and equipment to hospitals and not the government.
“Enough is enough! We’ve had enough! We’re tired of all these shortcomings and that is not good for so and so to know what’s going on,” the distraught doctor said implying that the regime was hiding the facts to save face.
