Seyed Hadi Khamenei, the Secretary General of the Assembly of the Forces of Imam’s Line and brother to Iran’s Supreme Leader attacked regime officials and blamed them for Iran’s socioeconomic conditions.
“No one can claim that they had no effect in the formation of current conditions. We have all made big and small mistakes and we have to apologize to the people because of the mistakes that we made,” he said during a speech in a religious ceremony.
He criticized the systematic corruption of the regime and called the widespread embezzlements by regime officials, “shameful”.
Hadi Khamenei said that the reason behind the regime’s financial corruption and embezzlement was the growth of factionalism and the elite who were above the law and made major decisions in the country.
The so-called “reformist” politician who is at odds with his Supreme Leader brother blamed all the factions for Iran’s dire state.
“What is happening today in the society is a product of our actions. If the natural and gradual effect of the violation of rights is not prevented, it will turn into a law and custom,” Hadi Khamenei said.
“Those who had and have higher positions (of power) have to take responsibly for the results. In all the factions, we tend to like to run the society as we like and to have those we want run the country and to have all the managerial positions and power and wealth. This is not right and all the fights and disagreements in the society are because of this,” the cleric added.
The explosive state of Iran’s society as a result of 40 years of corruption and suppression has forced regime officials to admit to their mistakes.
It seems that the regime can no longer control a population that wants regime change.
State-run media reported on Wednesday that a 47 year old man in the southern town of Kazeroon fatally stabbed the town’s head of Friday prayers.
Reports indicate that after stabbing the cleric, Hamid Derakhshande cried out, “I killed the murderer of young Kazeroonis”. He was later detained.
During the 2018 protests in Kazeroon, a large number of protesters were arrested while a number were shot and killed by security forces.
On April 27, a 46 year old cleric identified as Mostafa Qasemi was also shot and killed in the western province of Hamedan.
