Iran executes Mohammad Salas despite an international calls to stop his execution
Despite a global campaign to save the life of Mohammad Salas, a 51-year-old man from one of Iran’s largest Sufi orders, he has been executed early this morning.
Zaynab Taheri, Mohammad Salas attorney stated on Sunday that “We have many documents indicating his innocence”.
In an audio file released by Mohammad Thallath, he said: he is innocent and forced to confess after a few hours of torture in a police station.
The Amnesty International announced on 17th June:” This case has laid bare the flaws in Iran’s criminal justice system for all to see. We call on the international community to do everything in their power to stop the execution of Mohammad Salas.”
