Civil activist tortured in prison
A civil activist in Malayer, the province of Hamadan, has shared facts of how he was tortured while detained after the recent uprisings in Iran. Taymur Khaledian reported that he was beaten and tortured while being held at the police station. He explains that officers used a baton and an electric shocker to hurt him, as well as kicking him. It was so severe and painful that he could not sit down for a long time. Khaledian had previously been arrested in 2016-17 for sending out information about the Malayer prison. He is to be trialed in the coming days for taking action against national security.
State-run news agency ILNA has reported an attack on Iman Mohammadpur, another activist from Gachsaran County in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province. The attack was committed by a few people that wore masks and Iman is now in hospital. This activist had apparently written about the custom’s patrol chief of staff in his county on the internet.
