According to local reports, on April 14, Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) forces burned down a coffee shop in Chalus, Mazandaran. During the incident, 40 people were injured and taken to the hospital.
Across the coffee shop is an IRGC-owned building called Mahdieh, which the Guards use for their own events such as parties and meetings. The residents of the area refrained from attending the Mahdieh and went to the coffee shop instead, which was frequented by people who oppose the regime. The locals believe the guards burned the coffee shop to exact revenge and to improve their own business.
