Bookan March 18, 2018 – Bookan football fans in Kurdistan of Iran in North-West of the country clashed with security forces in the city’s stadium today afternoon during a football match between Sardar and Bandar-Abbas Shahrdary teams.
A photographer who objected a referee’s ruling was severely beaten by security forces.
This action by security forces sparked a protest by the youth present at the stadium. To quell the unrest, the security forces started throwing teargas at the crowd which resulted in injuries to dozens of people.
In reaction to maltreatment by the security forces, the people set a motorcycle that belonged to the forces on fire and also destroyed two of their vehicles.
